Presidential SCAM: EFCC Arrests Buhari's Aide

It is an Obvious Presidential Scam for Buhari’s aide to be arrested with 1.5 million dollars cash without EFCC disclosing his full name!

I was dumbfounded when a news headline detailing how EFCC arrested an unidentified aide of President Buhari in Abuja yesterday. Inline with the anti corruption drive of Mr. President and judging from the recent outbursts from Nigerian citizens against the presidency that it has been selective in its anti-corruption crusade, the news of the arrest of one of the president’s own aide has been arrested is such a great and welcome development in content only…observe..Presidential Scam

Never in the history of EFCC have they attempted to conceal the full identity of people they arrest on corruption charges because they are dedicated to proofing to the nation that they are running a credible and transparent operation. But the reverse is the case in the event of the undisclosed identity of the aide of Buhari who was arrested yesterday at his residence in Maitama, Abuja on charges of corruption in whose possession they recovered $1.5 million and 18 luxury cars which includes, ferrari, bugatti, rolls royce, cadillac and the others..isn’t that funny? who gave him all those luxurious gifts? are they the same people that have been netted by EFCC?…Presidential Scam

These are excerpts from the news:

“A top appointee of President Muhammadu Buhari has been arrested by the Department of State Service (DSS). The individual arrested is a member of the Presidential Investigative Committee on Arms Procurement. Apparently, Air Commodore Umar Muhammed (rtd), was investigating arms procurement for which he too partook in.

A dependable source within DSS stated that Muhammed was fronting for some high ranking officials within the EFCC and security agencies.

To put this in perspective, Muhammad is investigating a criminal offence for which EFCC, who is also part of the investigation are party to.

DSS operatives stormed Muhammad’s house on Sunday located at No. 4 Lundi Close Off Mississipi Street in Maitama, Abuja.

After a five-hour search, the operatives found and seized the sum of $1.5 million dollars in cash and various high-end cars.

According to the source, “The DSS cordoned off his house in Maitama, where he is believed to be having meeting at the time they swooped on the residence.”

What this news report indicates to us is that we are left with the guess work of filling in the appropriate surname behind one certain Mohammad that they arrested…I am sure that there are many Mohammads in Aso Rock even the president’s own name starts with “Mohammadu”

In as much as the EFCC in collaboration with the executive arm of government are working so hard d to launder the image of the president for Nigerians to see him as a man that does not care who gets arrested on the charges of corruption, much still needs to be done in the area of transparency in the pursuance of justice because all that this news report indicates is simply a presidential scam perpetuated by EFCC and the Presidency to fool Nigerians.

I believe Nigeria can never break up inspite of the tension rising up against the government around the country!

EFCC: Why We Froze Fayose's Account

Nigeria’s anti-graft body (EFCC) the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  has opened up on why the account of President Muhammadu Buhari’s fiery critic was frozen.

Although section 308 of the 1999 constitution gives immunity to serving governors, the EFCC spokesperson Mr. Wilson Uwujaren says such immunity does not stop a sitting governor from being investigated.

The EFCC says it decided to freeze Gov. Fayose account because it has sufficient evidence that some suspicious lodgments were traced to the account

His words: “It is true that we have frozen Governor Fayose’s account in connection with an ongoing investigation. We will soon release the details of our findings to the public.

“We froze the account because Fayose has no immunity against investigations.

“Let me clarify that the 1999 Constitution does not grant immunity to governors or public officers against investigation.

“The governors and others enjoying the immunity clause in Section 308 cannot be prosecuted. Therefore, Fayose cannot stop EFCC from doing its job.”

Asked if the amount in the Post No Bill ( PNB ) account was up to N1.3billion as being speculated, Uwujaren said: “Certainly, some amount was frozen in Fayose’s account but I cannot say the exact amount till tomorrow (today).”

A top official, who spoke in confidence, said: “It became necessary to freeze the account following clues on alleged suspicious lodgments.

“We will release the facts soon to Nigerians to appreciate the extent of our investigation.”

Governor Fayose has been having a running battle with the Federal Government over his anti-Buhari stance.

Recently, the governor was placed under security watch by the Federal Government and told point blank that he could not travel out of the country unless he seeks a clearance from the Department of State Security.

Many see this latest incident – freezing a sitting governor’s account as one of the moves to muzzle the dissenting voices – a sad pointer to the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari is running a dictatorial government.
