Boko Haram terrorists members second attempt to take the major northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri this week has again been defeated by Nigerian troops, today, Sunday, leaving hundreds of terrorists dead, reports Associated Press.
The terror-sect fighters launched a fresh attempt to take over the Borno state capital at roughly 3:00am, today Sunday (local time) with loud explosions and gunfire, as the insurgents tried to enter the city from the south.

Troops backed by vigilantes battled the Boko Haram terrorists assailants for several hours with the fighting concentrated in the Mulai area just three kilometres south of the city, several witnesses said.
Sunday's assault came after African Union leaders authorized the
creation of a multinational force of 7,500 to fight the Islamist group.
