Kwara State command of the NSCDC has arrested a fake military officer identified as Abdulkadir Bolaji, 41 years and two others for sequence of burglary incidents in Lakele Community, Oro in Irepodun LGA of Kwara state.
The two other suspect that was arrested with Abdulkadir were identified as, Olalekan Adeniyi, 32 years who runs a shop were the stolen items are displayed and sold, and Dare Ajiboye, 31 years, who claimed to be Dj and also works as a sales boy at Olalekan’s shop.
Babawale Afolabi, Spokesman of the NSCDC, said in a statement disclosed on Friday, February 25, that Bolaji, normally parade himself as a soldier. He also stated that the three suspects and others who are now at large, were responsible for the series of case of burglary and theft in the town.
Afolabi, in his statement said "For the past few months there have been reported cases of burglary and theft in Lakele area, Oro, irepodun local government of the state and the community in collaboration with the NSCDC officers in the area decided to track down those behind the nefarious acts,"
He also said that the efforts of the community and the NSCDC paid off when some of the stolen items and gods were found at the shop and after further investigations, it was revealed that the stolen goods where from the burglary and housebreaking incidents. Items recovered included Plasma televisions, play stations, CCTV cameras (360 degrees) many others.
Afolabi said that Makinde Ayinla, State commandant of the NSCDC, was informed and he has ordered that manhunt be done in other to get the other members of the gangs. Meanwhile more investigation would be done.
