SEASON OF STONES AND PURE WATER SACHETS ON GEJ
It feels as if President Goodluck Jonathan has suddenly become an attractive magnet for flying stones and soaring pure water sachets anywhere he goes. Only last week was he attacked by angry youth in Katsina while on his way to visit the late President Umaru Yar'Adua family.
But yesterday's attack on his campaign train in Bauchi was more intense than the earlier one as the angry youths chanting anti-PDP slogans and hailing "Sai Buhari!" blocked the road leading to the Emir of Bauchi's palace as GEJ was heading there to pay homage.
The angry broom wielding youths pelted the president's convoy with stones and pure water sachets as he made his way around Bauchi as if that was not enough, more salt was added to injury as the president and his team were further embarrassed at the Babangida Square which was to serve as the venue of their campaign rally. All the crowd in attendance started sing APC songs and wielding brooms as they took turns to launch waves upon waves of stones, pure water sachets and objects were rained on dignitaries at the rally.
Long story short, yours faithfully is predicting more attacks on Goodluck Jonathan in coming weeks as he moves around the country trying to canvass voters for his presidential re-election bid. In the meantime, yours faithfully has his fingers crossed and waiting for the unraveling of the news as they come into reality. Or don't you think so?
