29 years old installer suffocates, dies in a petrol tank in kwara

A 29 years old petrol tank installer, identified as Ahmed, while working on a petrol tank at a filling station had suffocated and died on Saturday February 19, along Offa garage road in Kwara state.

The victim came from Ibadan with his boss for the job, but while performing the maintenance work on a damaged petrol tank at the filling station, had suffocated and died.

Hassan Adekunle, Spokesman to the Kwara state fire services, in a statement on Sunday 20 February, said the incident had happened at N0. 157 Bovas Fillinf Station opposite Adisco office, Ajase-ipo Road, Ilorin, at around 19:25pm

According to report, the victim was too careless with his life that he engaged on the work without putting on the necessary safety gear. Firemen were able to evacuate the body from the tank and handed it over to his boss identified as Abdulbasit Oladimeji.
