High blood pressure (Hypertension) is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels. It often doesn't have symptoms and sometimes if not treated can cause severe complications and increase the risks of heart disease, stroke and death.
If one have been diagnosed with elevated blood pressure, its smart to take the medications that can bring it under control, because chronically elevated blood pressure can cause cardiovascular disease.
Prevention can be taken, especially when there is a family history of High blood pressure or heart disease.
Ways on how to reduce and maintain High blood pressure:
- Reduce the intake of salt because too much of it can increase your blood pressure..
- Eat more fruits and vegetables as well as fibre diets
- Avoid smoking cause it leads to narrowing of blood vessels.
- Eat low fat meals.
- Avoid much stress because stress hormones like adrenaline increase blood pressure
- Regular Exercises
- Reduce the uses of caffeine because it increase the circulation of cortisol and adrenaline which can increase blood pressure.
